Personal Review

Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum, located at 16 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang. I first visited the museum nine years ago. Now, while a replica of the Vo Canh stele and several cannons still stand outside, the interior has been redecorated and arranged much more neatly than before.

The museum houses more than 10,000 artifacts and 5,000 photographic documents, reflecting the rich history and unique culture of this land. Established in 1979 in a French colonial-style building, it displays many rare and valuable items such as the Vo Canh stele – the oldest stone inscription in Vietnam, the Khanh Son lithophone dating back about 5,000 years, and the Nha Trang bronze drum from 2,000 years ago.

In addition, the museum features artifacts from the Xom Con culture, Cham stone sculptures, ancient coins, ceramics, and documents about the revolutionary struggles of the people of Khanh Hoa. With its well-organized displays, the museum offers a comprehensive view of the region’s development from prehistoric times to the modern era. It is an ideal destination for anyone who loves history and local culture.
